Our board members were really honoured to work alongside four colleges – Bishop Viard College, Porirua College, Mana College and Aotea College, to connect with the Youth in Porirua and to identify Youth Community Champions from ethnic and migrant backgrounds.
Recognising high school students from ethnic migrant or former refugee backgrounds who actively volunteer and make a positive impact within their communities while balancing academic and other commitments.The principals opened nominations to students for submissions on what they were doing in their communities and why they should receive the Champion award.
The Executive Team (Rowena, June and Summer) attended the school prize giving awards and also met with the whanau to present the Community Champion awards.
