Ombudsman Visit to PMC

Last week we welcomed Lei Mikaele and Dexter Traill to the PMC Hub to learn more about the Ombudsman Office and how they can support our local communities. Some of the key takeaways are:

– The Ombudsman is not the government

– You can contact to the Ombudsman if you think you have treated unfairly by a government agency and are not being listened to

– The Ombudsman will look into a number of agencies on your behalf; government, council, crown entities, universities and polytechnic, school boards, Oranga Tamariki providers, and public aged care facilities

– Translation services can be provided

– Ombudsman services are FREE

If you unsure if the service is for you contact them and they will support you directly or connect you with the right people. Porirua Multicultural Council can also advocate for you, please DM us.
